Institute of Banking Personnel Selection also known as IBPS, was initiated, in order to recruitment the best of candidates for the various public sector banks across India. Before 2012, interested candidates wrote multiple exams conducted by each bank for job vacancies. Then, the Recruitment process got changed. Presently, five exams are conducted every year by IBPS. There are two exams for probationary officers, two for clerical levels and one for specialist officers (agricultural, law, technical).

The IBPS Probationary officer Exam is conducted in 2 tiers- Prelims and Mains. Prelims was conducted in October while Mains exam is scheduled in December.  Questions are asked from 5 sections namely Quant, English, Reasoning, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge

There would be 200 questions in total; 45 for Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, 35 for English Language and 35 for Data Analysis and Interpretation.
