CT Scan Meaning:

CT scan is a Computerized Tomography (CT) scan which uses X-rays and a computer to create detailed images of the inside of the body which produce images of the internal organs, blood vessels and bones.

Usages of CT Scan:

In the condition of damage to bones, injuries to internal organs, problems with blood flow, stroke, and cancer the CT Scan can be used. CT Scan help to determine the location, size and shape of a tumor in the body and checking the size of tumors during and after cancer treatment.

Preparation Before CT Scan:

To help make sure clear images are taken, your doctor can advised to avoid eating anything for several hours before CT Scan conduct. The CT Scan will usually take around 10 to 20 minutes.

MRI Scan Meaning:

MRI Scan is Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) which uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body.

Usages of MRI Scan:

This MRI Scanner is a large tube that contains powerful magnets which is very useful for examine almost any part of the body like; brain and Spinal Cord, Bones and Joints, Breasts, Heart and Blood Vessels and Internal Organs.

Preparation Before MRI Scan:

MRI scans are one of the safest medical procedures available in the world but in come cases the MRI scans may not be recommended if the person have a metal implant fitted in the body due to any medical reason or artificial joints in the body. Depending on the size of the area being scanned MRI scan lasts 15 to 90 minutes.

Angiography Meaning:

Angiography is used to check the health of your blood vessels and how blood flows through them. It is a type of X-ray used to check blood vessels in human body. A special dye needs to be injected into blood first to show Blood vessels clearly.

Usages of Angiography:

Angiography help to diagnose or investigate several problems and can also be used to help plan of treatment. Angiography is used to investigate many problems in human body affecting Blood Vessels like; Atherosclerosis, Brain Aneurysm, Blood Clots, Peripheral Arterial Disease and Blockage in the blood supply to the Kidneys.

Preparation Before Angiography:

Angiography is done in radiology department of the hospitals. During the Angiography a series of X-rays are taken as the dye flows through blood vessels in the body. A dye (contrast medium) injected into the catheter and X-rays are taken as the dye flows in the blood vessels. Angiography test can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours.
